Hamilton Watches – Ultimate Power Dressing Accessory

Hamilton

For some reason, whenever I see a Hamilton watch, I see the smiling face of Lewis Hamilton the race driver for Mercedes. Now that’s an unbeatable combination of talent, class with unmatched power and elegance.

In fact, take a look at this Hamilton Ventura Elvis80 H24555331 Automatic Analog Men’s Watch. When I see it, I see the power of their design which in turn reminds me of the high-performance race car.

The sheer elegance of its design, the powerful simplicity amidst its unique design and rubber strap reminds me of the sheer brutal power of the race car.

What does a person need in a watch? The majority of us just need to know the time and sometimes, be reminded of the date. Well, that is exactly what the Hamilton Ventura Elvis80 H24555331 watch does, and it does so in style and unmatched accuracy; which also explains why I own this watch.

For the technically minded, the watch is a little over 4 cm across and about a centimetre thick. Triangular in shape, it flies in the face of conventional watch designs and shapes that claim a watch must be round.

The Hamilton Watch Company is of course a Swiss manufacturer of wristwatches and started off with making pocket watches. When they started manufacture, they were based in U.S.A and later shifted to Switzerland in 1969.

An interesting and unique part of their history was that during World War II, their entire production of watches was purchased by the government and distributed to the soldiers. Hamilton also made stop watches for the troops. Hamilton was selected because the unmatched accuracy of their watch. In fact, they became famous for producing highly accurate watches that were nick-named “Watch of Railroad Accuracy”.

Some of the most collectible early Hamilton wristwatches include the Tonneau, the Oval, the Rectangular,  the Coronado, the Square Enamel, the Piping Rock, the Glendale, the Spur, the Pinehurst, the Byrd, the Langley, the Cambridge, the Flintridge and the Barrel “B”. In fact, the watch displayed in this blog was first created by Hamilton in 1957 – now you know how much forward looking the company was and still is.

The Buren (now known as Hamilton / Buren) Micro-rotor was invented by Hamilton and it eliminated the large external oscillating weight that was used by automatic winding watches of those times. The micro-motor was much smaller weight and integrated into the chassis of the movement. This design resulted in slimmer automatic watch that still retained a centre sweep second hand.

Many of these models were made in solid gold and gold-filled cases. Couple of models were even made in pure silver. In my view, the best place to buy authentic Hamilton watches at ex-factory prices is zetawatches.com
